Rules

Short on purpose. Strangers follow them in places that deserve quiet. Breaking one means the proof is rejected and the wallet is not paid.

Which graves

Only graves that are visibly abandoned: overgrown, dirty, no flowers, no candles, no sign that anyone has stopped by in a long time. If there is any doubt, it is not abandoned.

Never a grave with fresh flowers or a recent date. Never a grave someone is visiting. Never a grave that a custodian tells you to leave.

What care is

Remove leaves, branches and weeds by hand. Rinse the stone with plain water and a soft cloth. Set fallen items upright if they are clearly part of the grave.

Do not use chemicals, brushes with hard bristles, or any tool on the stone. Do not move, remove or add objects. Do not touch a grave that is damaged in a way that needs a professional. Do not dig.

Photos

One before, one after, from the same spot, with enough of the surroundings to recognise the place. Blur names, dates and portraits of the deceased before uploading. We reject photos that show them.

Your phone's location is sent with the submission. It is compared with the grave's position and never shown publicly.

In the cemetery

Follow the cemetery's own rules and opening hours. Be quiet. Give way to anyone visiting. If you are asked what you are doing, say it plainly: you are cleaning an abandoned grave, and you will stop if asked.

Payment

A person reviews every submission. The bounty is paid in $PROOF at the price on the day of approval, from the vault, to the wallet that signed. The transaction is public and permanent. Reviews take up to 72 hours. One proof per grave at a time; a grave can be cared for again after thirty days.

Attempts to fake a location or a photo get the wallet excluded. There is no appeal for that one.

If you manage a cemetery that appears on the board and want any grave — or the whole cemetery — removed, write to care@restinproof.com. It is done within 72 hours, no questions.
